about knox
As a long-standing 3rd generation member of Canada’s “Supernaturalz” crew, Matthieu Knoxander” Walker aka “Knox", is a B-boy turned house dancer who has made it his mission to spread love for the house dance and music culture in Toronto. Officially stepping into the house cypher and battle scene in 2006, Knox grasped and enriched his house foundation through his mentors- Toronto native Fly lady Di and Philadelphia/NYC pioneer Prosenjit Guy "Tony" Kundu. Already a seasoned B-boy at this point, he paid homage to his Hip-hop roots though continuous experimentation with new concepts and movements, most remarkably the incorporation of B-boy, New Jack Swing, Hip-hop and most recently added Capoeira Freestyle elements into house dancing. As a result, his movements are characterized by a consistent grove that slips effortlessly into and out of explosive floor sequences and techniques. Today, Knox can be seen making his most recent mark in the Canadian & international house community, taking the win at both “King of the North” Chicago late 2014 and “The Blueprint” house dance competition Houston Texas 2015. Humbled by his experiences, peers, new found influential friends and dance family from around the world, Knox passes on his knowledge for house dance and house culture back home. Most importantly, he will always maintain the mantra that house dance is an exchange, and everyone has something unique to give and receive from the music.
